Our dementia cafés offer a place for people with dementia and their carers to meet in a safe and welcoming environment where they may enjoy social activities and helpful talks.
We are a small group at the moment and welcome new people. The group is very friendly and informal and information, support and activities are guided by the needs of the group.
Alzheimer's Society staff and trained volunteers ensure there is plenty of time to talk if you need it, as well as keeping up the supply of tea and biscuits.
So far this year we have had music, exercise, a talk on avoiding scams, support from the continence team , community police and fire services, as well as some fun and simple activities such as crafts, games and jig saws. What people enjoy most from the group is talking to each other.
