Dormston Centre - Guitar for Improvers

A guitar course aimed at mixed abilities focussing mainly on American-style music from the 1950s to the present day. The focus will be on blues and classic rock but will also encompass other musical styles too. Learn how to use chords and scales, lines riffs and melody, concentrating on how they all work together in various songs and song forms. A typical course covers three of four songs in details, featuring multiple arrangement parts, melody and improvisation.

You will learn these different parts and also get the chance to play them in a format that is similar to the experience of playing in a real band. Normally the minimum requirement is for the learner to have some limited playing experience, and demonstrate a little dexterity and co-ordination by strumming in time and changing between a few basic chords.
