This course is aimed at developing an understanding of watercolour techniques with a focus on, but not exclusive to wildlife, landscape and nature. The first few sessions of the term will build on technical handling of the medium. Study drawings or techniques will be carried out in preparation for the main term project. The main term project is usually discussed at the end of the previous term with the currently enrolled learners. It will generally comprise of 3-5 sessions depending complexity.
All learners work from the same source reference and are guided step by step through group demonstrations to show techniques, and individual discussion where greater understanding is required. If time allows the final session is for learners to bring along an individual piece of their own choosing for guidance.
