Lapal Seniors 6.5 Lunch Club

The Seniors 6.5 lunch club meets monthly on a Monday.

For the over 65's it provides a time to get out, meet others, and have a chat with sociable company over a fresh meal cooked on the premises. It helps to reduce social isolation, and provides time with old friends and make new ones.

The next few dates for 2020 are:

  • 20th January 2020
  • 17th February 2020
  • 16th March 2020
  • 20thApril 2020
  • 18th May 2020
  • 15th June 2020

Small charge for meal but no extra charges.  Diners gather together from 12.30pm onwards for the meal at 1.00pm.  At the moment we cannot provide transport. Carers who identify someone who could benefit should phone Sue Hill-Coordinator.

The co-ordinator will then visit referrals, to ascertain dietary requirements, and generally discuss the meal.  At the meal you will be greeted and introduced to the other diners, many of whom are local and you may already know. We look forward to seeing you.

Carers are invited to ring the co-ordinator to discuss a persons need, with discretion. Staff are DBS vetted.

Should any carer or relative know of an elderly person who would benefit from getting out and meeting others over a meal, then please get in touch.

Another useful group that meets here to reduce isolation and loneliness is "the over 50's" who meet fornightly on a Thursday. Please look into the website for dates. Just turn up. Its becoming quite a successful 'club'.
