Health Walks are held in Cotwall End Valley on the third Saturday of the month, except for November, when the walk is on the fourth Saturday. The walks pass through meadows and woodland and by the side of streams and pools. A number of features of interest can be seen, including the Coach Road which led to Ellowes Hall, the Sugar Well where local people drew water, the series of pools built within the grounds of the hall, a fossil face designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and much evidence of the mining that took place in the Valley. Join us on a regular basis and see the landscape change with the seasons, along with the flora and fauna.
Route Intensity: Moderate. The route includes uphill climbs and steps. There may also be wet, muddy and uneven surfaces, so please wear appropriate footwear. The route is not suitable for pushchairs.
Please note that changes may be made if the weather is inclement.
