Dudley Advocacy - Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA)

Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) is a statutory service that represents people that been deemed as lacking mental capacity to make certain decisions for themselves.  In addition they have no appropriate family or friends to represent them.

It is a statutory requirement under the mental capacity act to involve IMCA's with accomadation moves and serious medical treatment.  It is good practice to involve IMCA's with people who are subject to safeguarding procedures and those who have difficulty participating in reviews.
